Coming Mid-September: The Sterling Community Gathering Place
Something big is taking shape in the heart of the Community, and we cannot wait for you to see it.
The Sterling Community Gathering Place is a thoughtfully designed area built to serve as the heart of the Community, benefiting both Sterling Ridge and Sterling Ranch residents. It is where neighbors will meet for a pickup soccer game, where kids will burn off energy on a summer evening, and where a concert on the lawn will become a standing tradition.
Phase 1 is under construction right now, and we are making great progress toward an anticipated opening in mid-September 2026.
What Is Coming in Phase 1: Construction is already underway on the first collection of amenities at the Sterling Community Gathering Place:
- A generous playground designed for a wide range of ages and abilities
- A multi-purpose sports field for soccer, lacrosse, practices, and pickup games
- Pickleball courts for the fastest-growing sport in the neighborhood
- Park play areas woven throughout the site
- A lawn and pavilion built for concerts and music in the park
That means by mid-September, residents should be able to walk over with a blanket and a lawn chair and enjoy the space firsthand.

What Comes Next
The Sterling Community Gathering Place is being developed in phases, and future phases in the preliminary planning stage with the following amenities currently being contemplated.
- Integrated trail connections linking the Gathering Place to the broader network
- A dog park for the four-legged members of the Community
- A tentatively planned modern, barn-inspired community hub potentially featuring event rooms, indoor gathering spaces, a pool, and social areas
- Space for food truck events, farmers markets, and more
- A quick note on The Barn: it is preliminary and subject to change. This amenity is currently in the proposed concept stage. We are sharing the vision early because we would rather keep you in the loop than leave you guessing. Timelines for future phases have not been set, and we are committed to publishing anticipated groundbreaking and construction dates as planning continues to take shape. We will continue to keep you updated as plans progress.
Why Build It in Phases?
A phased approach lets us prioritize the amenities that deliver value soonest. By starting with the park, playground, and sports facilities, residents get to use and enjoy the space this year, while we take the time to plan the community hub and remaining features thoughtfully and get them right for the long term.
What About Cost?
Cost matters, and we want to be straightforward with you.
While the park is open to the public, we are in the early stages of determining an appropriate fee structure for residents to use the future Sterling Community Gathering Place buildings and amenities, and we will share details as they are finalized. The exact impact on HOA or Metro District fees once the full amentities come online has not been determined. That is a key consideration for residents, and we will pass along updates as soon as we have them.
